Here is a flawless 2009 $50 Gold Eagle graded MS70 First Strike by PCGS. This outstanding Gold Eagle exhibits blazing original mint luster. The satiny-smooth surfaces shine with clarity and beauty. The devices are powerfully-struck with full elaborate detail. The lines on Liberty's hair and dress are especially crisp and well-defined, as are the features of her face.

First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. Use of these first dies typically result in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issue in order to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
