This 2021-W Type 2 $50 Gold Eagle has been graded Gem Proof and certified First Strike by PCGS with the West Point Mint label. It features sharply struck devices and dazzling mirror like Gold fields. The high point details stand out fantastically against the mirror-like fields. This Proof Gold Eagle coin is certain to make a fantastic addition to any gold bullion collection.

This Type 2 Gold Eagle Proof features a new reverse design. Having been unchanged for over thirty years, this new design replaces the family of eagles with a highly detailed bald eagle head.

First Strike coins are produced using the first dies forged by the Mint for a particular series. The use of these first dies typically results in a higher quality strike and finer details. A coin must be proven to have been released by the Mint within the first 30 days of issuance to be designated First Strike. Only a limited quantity of coins will be classified First Strikes during any production run, making them prized among collectors and investors for their increased scarcity and added beauty.
